About Fairmont

A full-service laboratory, built on consistency.

Fairmont Dental Lab has operated from Burnaby since 1988, providing a complete range of laboratory services to prosthodontists, dentists, denturists and their patients.

What we make

Fixed restorations across ceramic, porcelain-fused-to-metal, full metal, composite and provisional categories. Implant restorative components — crowns, pontics, custom abutments, tissue models and attachment castings. Removable prosthetics from complete and partial dentures through relines, rebases and repairs. Orthodontic and occlusal appliances.

That breadth matters more than it sounds. A practice that sends posterior crown work today may need demanding anterior aesthetics, implant restorative work or a partial denture within the year, and moving laboratory for each category is exactly the fragmentation that undermines a relationship.

The full range is set out under services.

How the laboratory works

Technicians specialize by area of expertise rather than rotating across everything, which is what makes a result repeatable rather than occasional. The value of a laboratory shows in the tenth case, not the first.

Every case is inspected under the microscope at two stages — once after the wax-up is complete, and again after the frame is finished — so the degree of fit is verified before any aesthetic work begins.

For porcelain work, a layering technique is combined with systems sourced from manufacturers around the world. Quality assurance sets out the process in full.

Who we work with

Dental practices throughout British Columbia and dental offices across Canada, along with denturists and other dental laboratories. Cases move by UPS and Purolator in both directions.

Fairmont is a preferred iTero laboratory, designated by Align Technology, and accepts cases from every mainstream intraoral scanner — as well as conventional impressions, which are as welcome as they have been since 1988.

The laboratory provides professional services to dental professionals and is not open to the public. Patients attend only by appointment for shade matching arranged through their practice.

What we are trying to be

We understand the day-to-day pressures of running a practice committed to excellent care. Chair time is too valuable for remakes and schedules are too tight for surprises.

So the objective is unglamorous: restorations that fit, that look right, and that arrive when we said they would — case after case, for years. Clear communication and consistent work are how a laboratory earns a place in that environment.

Where a case is demanding, advising on it is part of the service rather than an extra. The cases that go wrong are disproportionately the ones where the first contact was the arrival of the impression.

Documentation and standards

Alloy identification certificates are provided for your records, so what was used on a given case can be established years afterwards. Every appliance and product is disinfected before it leaves the laboratory.

Dental technicians in British Columbia are regulated, and we are happy to answer questions about registration and supervision arrangements directly.

Unbeatable service and a quality guarantee back everything the laboratory produces.

Visit us

5349 Imperial Street, Suite 100, Burnaby, BC V5J 1E5. Open Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Very few dentists have watched a technician build the restorations they prescribe, and almost everyone who does changes how they write prescriptions afterwards. If you are within reach, an hour here is well spent — call to arrange it.

Why practices stay

Consistency, mostly. Any competent laboratory produces an excellent restoration occasionally; what determines whether working with one is comfortable is whether the twentieth case is like the first.

That is what lets a practice book a seat appointment with confidence, standardize its own delivery routine, and stop building adjustment time into every appointment. It is worth more than an occasional exceptional result.
